Bandai Namco’s Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is set to launch this summer.
The publisher revealed a new trailer today that focuses on Tsubasa Ozora and his team as they enter the qualifying round before advancing to the World Youth Championship.
The tournament is filled with powerful opponents from Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and China, where each country’s dedication to precision and strength will test your might. Japan’s position in the tournament will take a lot of focus and dedication. The World Youth Championship will also bring legendary encounters against Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden and the Netherlands.
Earning the title as one of Shōnen Jump’s most successful publications, thanks in large part to the global appeal of “The Beautiful Game, Captain Tsubasa, the manga ran between 1981 and 1988, with the chapters collected in 37 tankōbon volumes. Over the years, it has inspired several manga sequels, as well as an anime television series by Tsuchida Production and broadcast on TV Tokyo from 1983 to 1986. Numerous movies and television series have followed, with the latest one airing between 2018 and 2019; a second season premiered in 2023.
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is set to kick off competition on August 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
