Interview: nixstah discusses Forza Horizon 6's Los Angeles pop-up event

This weekend (May 30 and May 31), Westfield Century City will host a special Forza Horizon 6 pop-up for fans of the popular racing franchise. Lost & Found: The Challenge at Toyota’s Forza Barn Finds Pop-Up will offer a slew of prizes for those lucky enough to solve puzzles in a Japanese-themed barn. Popular Call of Duty streamer nixstah will be one of the special guests featured at the event. We had a chance to speak to the streamer about Forza Horizon 6 and this weekend’s festivities.

MP3s and NPCs: What’s your history with the Forza Horizon series?

nixstah: My first Forza game was actually Forza Motorsport 2 back in 2007, and that’s what got me into the whole series. Ever since then, I’ve pretty much played every Forza game, including all of the Horizon games. I’ve always loved racing games, but Forza is the series that really stuck with me. Horizon has always felt like the perfect mix of racing, collecting cars, customizing builds, and just cruising around with friends. Since I mainly come from Call of Duty and competitive games, Forza is also a nice change of pace because it still has skill and progression, but it lets me have fun and create content in a completely different way.

MP3s and NPCs: How’s your car collection so far in the game?

nixstah: I already have over 200 cars, and now I’m at the point where I’m trying to collect everything rare. I’ve been chasing barn finds, seasonal rewards, and any limited cars I can get my hands on. I love building a garage that has everything: the meta cars for racing, the rare collector cars, and the cars that are just fun to drift around in. I currently have 100 hours played, and I’m just on the tip of the iceberg of how many cars are left to collect.

MP3s and NPCs: Have you had an unfortunate run-in with Bowie Knife99 yet?

nixstah: Yes, unfortunately, I have. Bowie Knife99 is basically Forza Horizon’s biggest villain at this point. I ran into him on a tough mountain, and he sent me absolutely flying off the road. It honestly reminds me of M. Rossi from the old Forza games (if you know, you know).

MP3s and NPCs: Which has a more stressful multiplayer experience: Call of Duty or Forza Horizon?

nixstah: Call of Duty is definitely more stressful overall. In Warzone, one bad rotation or one guy sitting in a corner can ruin your entire game. But in Forza, I’ll be locked in taking the perfect corner, and then someone sends me into another zip code on turn one. So Forza has a completely different type of stress than COD.

MP3s and NPCs: You’re going to be part of this weekend’s Toyota’s Forza Barn Finds Pop-Up at Westfield Century City. How excited are you to be part of the event?

nixstah: I’m super excited! The whole concept is really cool because barn finds are such an iconic part of Forza Horizon, and now getting to be part of a real-life version of that with Toyota at Westfield Century City is honestly sick. For me, it’s always fun when gaming crosses over into the real world like this. I get to bring my community along for something that feels bigger than just playing the game at my setup.

MP3s and NPCs: What advice would you give someone looking to start their journey as a Twitch streamer?

nixstah: A lot of people wait until they have the perfect setup, perfect camera, perfect overlays, perfect everything. But the most important thing is learning how to be entertaining, consistent, and comfortable on camera. You also have to make content outside of Twitch. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram – you need to be everywhere. Twitch is where you build the community, but short-form content is usually how new people discover you. You have to be okay with talking to nobody at first, trying new ideas, failing, adjusting, and showing up again the next day because the people who last are usually the ones who genuinely love creating.

Forza Horizon 6 is out now on Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game will land on the PlayStation 5 later this year.
