I removed my GTX 1050, cleaned the contacts and placed it back. Did it fixed the problem? Yes. It fixed the problem but only for a week. After a week, the problem started happening again and, this time, cleaning the contacts did not work. So, what was the problem? The problem was, the display driver kept crashing. Everytime it crashed, it turned my screen black and it would stay that way until I force my PC to restart by pressing the power button.
The display driver crashing wasn’t new. It would sometimes happen whenever there was a new display driver update from NVIDIA. So, the solution was simple. I would just update to the latest display driver and it would stop crashing. This time, it was different. Updating didn’t fix anything. I even did a full clean uninstall and re-install of the driver.
