In January 2025, Sony announced a film adaptation of the Helldivers franchise. The film was set to be released in November 2027, with Jason Momoa in the lead role.
However, Deadline reports that the American actor, known for his roles in Game of Thrones, Aquaman, and Dune, has ultimately left the project. The reasons for his departure remain unknown at this time.
The feature film directed by Justin Lin is still on track, and Sony is currently searching for a new actor to play the lead role.
