Founded in 2013 by Paul Neurath and after opening a second studio led by Warren Spector in 2016, OtherSide Entertainment now finds itself in serious trouble.
In a statement sent to Game Developer, a company spokesperson confirmed layoffs following the cancellation of the company’s upcoming game.
“After the cancelation of a game under development codenamed Argos, OtherSide Entertainment had to sadly say goodbye to 17 team members, effective end of May.”
The cancellation was prompted by the current state of the industry, which was described as “brutally challenging”, making it “unviable for now” to continue the project. OtherSide Entertainment released Underworld Ascendant in 2018 and Thick as Thieves last May.
