This week, Epic Games provided some more details about Unreal Engine 6. It will actually be a merger between Unreal Engine 5 and the Unreal Editor for Fortnite, with Generative AI being part of the mix for designing assets.
The inclusion of artificial intelligence hasn’t really gone over well with Epic’s partners, particularly poncle, the creators of Vampire Survivors. While a partnership was planned as part of Fortnite, the British studio says it is considering ending the collaboration.
“Following today’s news about gen AI usage by Epic to create all sort of game assets, including Fortnite characters, we’re currently ‘reviewing’ our collaboration with Fortnite. We’ll let you know if anything moves forward.”
