Neither NetEase nor Toshihiro Nagoshi himself have confirmed the cancellation of Gang of Dragon. However, the signs are clear. The project’s creator is no longer working at his own studio, which appears to have closed its doors.
Now, it’s Daisuke Sato’s turn, the co-founder and director of Nagoshi Studio, to confirm his departure after updating his profile on X. On LinkedIn, at least seven other employees have indicated that they left the company as of May 31, 2026.
Kazuki Hosokawa, who headed the design department, also made his departure official, stating that he had spent the last four and a half years “surrounded by talent.” Artists and other designers have done the same on their respective profiles.
