If there’s one thing The Last of Us Part II is missing, it’s a multiplayer experience worthy of the name. Unfortunately, Naughty Dog had decided to make it a standalone game before canceling it to focus on its future single-player titles.
Ultimately, fans rolled up their sleeves to create a mod for the PC version of The Last of Us Part II Remastered. Thanks to a roughly 25-minute video, we can explore the various aspects of this multiplayer mode, which has been in development since last January. We see Ellie and Abby facing off across two maps.
The mod is scheduled for release in September 2026.
