The controversy surrounding the lack of a disc in the physical version of GTA VI is far from over. However, leaks from an insider suggested that a Blu-ray version of the game would be released as early as December.
Furthermore, a message sent by Rockstar’s customer support also indicated that a CD for GTA VI would be available in the coming months. However, The Hollywood Reporter has reported radically different rumors. The article, which cites a source close to the matter, states that Take-Two has no plans to produce physical copies of the game “either at launch or in the months that follow.”
If the message from Rockstar’s support team is indeed authentic, there may have actually been some confusion regarding the term “physical version”. It appears to refer to the edition with a code included in the box, rather than a new version with a disc.
In short, what is certain for now is that GTA VI will not be released in a true physical edition when it launches in November.
