It seems like almost every video game is getting its own adaptation for the big or small screen. That’s certainly the impression one might get, since even Tetris will soon have its own animated TV series.
Titled Tetris: World Builders, this CGI series—officially announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival—will consist of 52 episodes, each 11 minutes long. It is produced by the French studio TeamTO, in collaboration with executive producer Chuck Williams. Williams notably helped adapt Sonic the Hedgehog for the big screen. He is also working on the feature film Pac-Man, which will be released soon.
Here is the synopsis for the Tetris series.
“When massive, mysterious Tetrimino blocks begin raining from the sky, a fearless team of young World Builders must help their world adapt and evolve.
“Using ingenuity, collaboration, and STEAM-based thinking, the Scouts transform unexpected challenges into exciting new opportunities, reshaping landscapes, solving community problems, and building a brighter future together.”
The Tetris: World Builders series is intended for children ages six and up. It has no air date yet.
