In case you somehow missed yesterday’s news, PlayStation has announced its intent to discontinue the production of physical game discs starting in 2028.
This means, in about 18 months’ time, all new game releases on Sony’s platforms will only be available via the PS Store; you may still be able to buy them in physical retailers, but they’ll just consist of a code to redeem on your console. It’s also now presumed the PS6 will not support discs.
