It will soon be the end of an era for Nintendo in Europe. Indeed, ten years after its launch on the continent, the original Switch will bow out next year.
The Japanese manufacturer has announced that the Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED models will no longer be sold in Europe starting in mid-February 2027. This announcement applies to third-party retailers and the Nintendo Store.
Nintendo has apparently made this decision due to European legislation that will require every device to have a replaceable battery starting next year. The company evidently does not wish to design new models to comply with the law.
