Thursday, July 16

Chinese American Bear @ The Echoplex (1154 Glendale Blvd.)

Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Chinese American Bear will return to Los Angeles this week with a stop at The Echoplex. The husband-and-wife act are currently on the road supporting their new studio album Dim Sum & Then Some, which is out on Moshi Moshi Records.

Dolly Ave @ Moroccan Lounge (901 1st St.)

Doors: 6:30 p.m. (tickets)

Rising Los Angeles artist Dolly Ave will have a hometown performance at Moroccan Lounge this Thursday. You can read our recent interview with the artist here. Jiho and Silent Child will be the opening acts.

Friday, July 17

Friday Block Party @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

Doors: 5:20 p.m.

Co-hosted by Sean Williams & Itanza Saraz, Friday Block Party features a slew of black and P.O.C. improvisers delivering some laughs for the audience. The lineup for Friday’s show will be revealed soon. This is a free show, so come out.

Puck Bunnies: A Heated Rivalry Drag Musical Parody @ Dynasty Typewriter (2511 Wilshire Blvd.)

Doors: 9 p.m. (tickets)

Puck Bunnies: A Heated Rivalry Drag Musical Parody returns to Dynasty Typewriter for a pair of performances (the second show takes place on Saturday, July 18 at 9:30 p.m.) The cast for the show features Kyra Brown, Hanna Barlow, Christan Leonard, Mariel Sena, Elyse Ruppert, Bradley Wayne, Elena Martinez, Alisa Boland, and Capri Campeau. Tony Gonzalez will deliver music on the piano. The show will make its way to Edinburgh Fringe next month.

Darling and Moxie @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Pack Theater house sketch teams Darling and Moxie join forces for a night of comedy at the Los Feliz space. Darling features Alisa Boland, Andrew Dahlquist, Jared Hounshell, Jacob Kennelly, Steph Philo, Mikey Reid, Jacky Tran, Owen Matthew Welsh, Annika Wines, and Claire Young. Moxie includes Jupiter Baudot, Bryan Philip Cruz, Rebecca Del Sesto, William Scott Evans, Matt Harbert, Brigid Marshall, Lauri Roggenkamp, Peter Rambo, Hannah Singer, Julian Vlcan, Jackie Winn, and Diana Witt.
