Nintendo Launches Major Crackdown on Switch Emulator Repositories

Nintendo removes over 400 Switch emulator repositories as it intensifies its anti-piracy campaign.

Nintendo’s ongoing battle against piracy has reached a significant milestone, with the company taking down over 400 Nintendo Switch emulator repositories in a single day. This aggressive move, reported by both My Nintendo News and Nintendo Everything, is part of Nintendo’s long-standing effort to protect its intellectual property and curb the spread of piracy.

The repos included various forks of well-known emulators such as Suyu, Yuzu, and Skyline. Nintendo filed seven DMCA anti-circumvention notices on GitHub, resulting in the removal of these repositories. This development highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to tackle software piracy, a battle it has been fighting for years now.

Nintendo Switch 2 and Upcoming Titles

Meanwhile, as Nintendo Everything reports, “Quest of Dungeons” is gearing up for a release on the Nintendo Switch 2 with an added “Mansion Abyss” challenge mode and mouse controls. The game will hit the new platform on August 27, marking its arrival on another Nintendo console after appearances on Wii U, 3DS, and the original Switch.

The highly anticipated release of “Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4” will signify the return of the franchise to Nintendo platforms after a 13-year hiatus. According to Nintendo Life, the Switch 2 version development received support from Digital Legends, a Spanish studio known for its mobile gaming expertise, now part of Activision.

Legacy Reflections and Debunked Rumors

In a nostalgic look back, former Nintendo PR manager Ashely Day reminisces about the late Satoru Iwata’s desire for all Nintendo employees to play “Animal Crossing: New Leaf” prior to its launch. According to My Nintendo News, Iwata believed this experience would help the team appreciate the game’s unique appeal.

The rumor mill continues to churn in a year noted for its lack of major announcements, as reported by Nintendo Everything. The quiet first half of 2026 has led to a spike in speculative leaks, including unfounded rumors of an “Ocarina of Time” remake, demonstrating fans’ eagerness for official news.

Virtual Boy and New Content

Virtual Boy games remain a niche but fascinating area of interest. Nintendo Life’s guide discusses the latest additions to Switch Online, now featuring previously unreleased titles like “D-Hopper” and “Zero Racers.” This update continues to leverage Nintendo’s rich history, revisiting one of its less successful consoles in a new digital format.

Finally, “Vampire Survivors” is expanding its offering with the “Legacy of the Blood Moon” DLC, featuring new characters and weapons. While Nintendo Everything hints that the release is imminent, no specific date has been provided yet.
