Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 early access is live on PS5 with a standalone purchase required ahead of its full release on October 23, 2026.
This week marks the beginning of early access for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on PlayStation 5, among other platforms. As the latest installment in the famed first-person shooter series, this release is notable not only for its thematic focus on global tensions set off by a conflict on the Korean Peninsula but also because of its release model. Unlike its predecessors, Modern Warfare 4 is launching as a standalone title, which means it will not be bundled with the Call of Duty launcher or be available on Game Pass at launch, significant for those used to the series being more accessible. The full game rolls out next week on October 23, 2026.

Substantial Updates Incoming: No Rest for the Wicked and The Blood of Dawnwalker
No Rest for the Wicked, a game whose release was pushed from its planned October launch to March 2027, promises a considerably expanded experience with its Version 1.0 update. The release aims to significantly expand the content offered in its early access iteration, highlighting how the full version will “roughly double the size of the game.” Meanwhile, The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to release a sizeable patch next week for its PS5 version. This patch, version 1.1, will include over 1,100 improvements focusing on combat and controls, along with the introduction of an easier difficulty setting—an update eagerly awaited by the game’s community since hints were first teased last month.

Lastly, nostalgia circles back with a reported leak of Shrek 2 Remastered via the Xbox Store.
