Delays Hit Major Nintendo Switch 2 Titles Including 007 First Light

Nintendo Switch 2 faces delays for 007 First Light and Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble, while a new title announcement revives a classic arcade game.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is experiencing a series of game delays, reflecting broader scheduling challenges as developers strive to optimize performance on the new hardware. Notably, 007 First Light, which was already postponed once, has been further delayed until March 2027. According to Nintendo Life, IO Interactive announced this decision to allow more time for polishing the game’s performance, as initially planned for a summer 2026 release. Similarly, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivation has also been pushed to 2027, with Nintendo Everything highlighting that the creators, led by Luca Galante of Vampire Survivors fame, need additional time to deliver their vision. This delay trend reflects an ongoing pattern of studios prioritizing game quality over adherence to initial release timelines.

In more positive news for Nintendo enthusiasts, a nostalgic revival is on the horizon. Psychic Force 2012, originally an arcade game from 1998, is being developed for the Nintendo Switch. As reported by Nintendo Everything, this “360-degree all-range fighting game” will reappear in 2027, though specific details about the revamp remain scant. This move echoes a growing trend of reviving classic games for contemporary platforms, catering both to nostalgic players and new audiences.

On the sales front, the Switch 2 exclusive Orbitals has seen a dip in its UK chart positions, moving from a top-three debut to 18th place, according to Nintendo Life. Meanwhile, Onimusha: Way of the Sword continues to perform well, flipping positions with The Blood of the Dawnwalker to secure the top spot, despite Switch 2 sales contributing a meager 7% of the latter’s total. Onimusha’s enduring appeal is further highlighted by a positive review from Pure Nintendo, which praises Capcom’s ability to rejuvenate the series after a long hiatus.

Lastly, Nintendo has released a 2.6.0 update for its Switch Parental Controls app, as detailed by Nintendo Everything. This update introduces features allowing two guardians to share monitoring duties over a single system, indicating Nintendo’s continued commitment to providing family-friendly features and ensuring responsible gaming practices.
