Nintendo Switch 2 Gains New Horizon with ‘Look Outside’ and Physical Edition of ‘Haste’

Nintendo announces upcoming horror RPG 'Look Outside' and physical release of 'Haste' for Switch 2 as the platform continues to expand its diverse game library.

This week in Nintendo news, a couple of noteworthy additions are bolstering the Nintendo Switch 2’s game library. The platform continues to diversify as we see niche and unique titles entering its ecosystem, alongside popular franchises making a return with a twist.

New Titles Expanding the Switch 2’s Horizon

An exciting announcement from Nintendo Everything unveils ‘Look Outside’, a survival horror RPG brought by Devolver Digital and Francis Coulombe. Set to release on October 30, 2026, for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and original Switch, this title leverages pixel art graphics to tell a dark story of survival against grotesque monsters. It aims to attract the Halloween crowd by offering horror elements mixed with RPG mechanics, fitting well within the season.

In another move showing Nintendo’s commitment to physical media, Nintendo Everything reports that Super Rare Games is preparing a physical release of ‘Haste’ for the Switch 2. Having previously been available only digitally, fans can soon purchase the game in physical format, with 5,000 standard copies and 2,000 special editions, including exclusive collectibles.

Switch 2: Gathering Various Genres

‘Sonic Pico Park’ is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 among other platforms, with SEGA announcing additions to its character lineup. As My Nintendo News reports, Rouge and Omega from the Sonic franchise will join this 2D platformer, highlighting versatility with flying abilities and sheer power dynamics. However, there’s no exact release date yet beyond a general ‘later this year’.

Events and Reviews Filling the Scene

Nintendo’s sales events are also making waves. Nintendo Life details Nintendo’s ‘Halloween Sale’ in Europe, filled with titles from both Switch generations being discounted until November 1, offering players a chance to explore highly-rated games at reduced prices.

On the review front, ‘Village In The Shade’ has been well received, with a farm simulator that deviates from the genre’s norm by blending cosy elements with a horror twist. As per Nintendo Life, it seems to offer a refreshing take that reflects on why players are drawn to such escapist adventures despite the unsettling atmosphere.

While the week may seem relatively slow with no major flagship game announcements, the variety in the Switch 2’s library is a testament to its growing repertoire. As we await further significant standout releases, these smaller titles continue to add depth to Nintendo’s offerings.
