It’s been more than two months since the release of Borderlands 4, and until recently, the game has been plagued with performance and stability issues.
To Gearbox’s credit, a lot of these issues have been somewhat addressed already. According to them, a recent update has boosted performance by roughly 20%.
However, not only is the game suffering from performance issues, but it’s also lacking in the content department. To address this, Gearbox has released a major update that includes a bunch of fixes and a new DLC that’s available for free.
In their blog, Gearbox announced the release of the first Bounty Pack titled How Rush Saved Mercenary Day for free.
“It’s a Mercenary Day miracle! We’re making the first Bounty Pack for Borderlands 4 free for all players! And we’re just getting started,” Gearbox wrote.
This is not the only surprise that Gearbox has prepared, though, as there’s also a handful of major adjustments to help make the game more fun and exciting to play.
Borderlands 4’s New Update Just Released Along with a Free DLC
So what exactly does Borderlands 4’s new update bring to the table?
For starters, it’s now easier to farm the Class Mods for your current character as the drop rate has been adjusted accordingly. This means you’ll no longer waste time improving your build. You can still earn class mods for other characters, but your chances of getting the ones for your current character are now a lot higher.
Another welcome addition is the reduction in unintended movements or knockbacks while you revive a teammate.
There’s also a new Legendary Loot Indicator, which makes looking for high-rarity drops easier. If you’ve farmed specific gear, you’ll know how tedious it can be to sift through loot just to find the one you’re looking for.
These are just a few of the many changes released in the recent patch. You can read through the patch notes to learn what other things have been changed.
Gearbox also said they’re planning on adding endgame activities in the future, alongside an improved shared character progression, cross-save support, and more.
