So I did what a lot of Second Life residents do, I searched for Alienum.
And what did I find? A “dead” region.
But here’s the lesson: don’t trust search results alone.
Instead of giving up, I jumped into the Alienum group chat and asked what was going on. Within minutes, someone shared the correct, working landmark. That’s one thing I love about Second Life, if you ask, people usually help.
Armed with the new landmark, I teleported again.
This time? Completely different story.
The region was working, and most importantly, I found the Alienum ATM. If you’ve been doing Alienum, there’s nothing more satisfying than finally cashing out.
I walked up to the ATM, clicked… and withdrew 141 Linden Dollars.
Yes, 141 L$.
It might not sound huge to someone outside of Second Life, but every Linden Dollar counts, especially when it’s something you’ve earned through participation and activity. Plus, there’s something fun about physically going to an ATM in a virtual world to claim your rewards.
This livestream ended up being a great reminder of a few things:
- Locations move.
- Search results aren’t always up to date.
- Group chats are incredibly useful.
- Alienum is definitely not dead.
If you logged in, searched Alienum, and thought it disappeared, don’t panic. Ask the group. Get the new landmark. Go to the ATM. Check your balance.
You might have Linden Dollars waiting for you.
And honestly? There’s something satisfying about turning a “dead region” moment into a 141 L$ win.
Second Life is full of surprises. Sometimes you just need the right landmark.
