Black Tides Brings In A Familiar Storyline From The Franchise Lore
A “Sage” Ending To Naoe and Yasuke’s Saga
We’re not going to give too much away, but Black Tides ties in quite well to Ubisoft’s upcoming Black Flag Remake, bringing a duo of Templars not unlike Otso Berg and Violet de Costa to the table, who face off against Naoe and Yasuke as they search for a very familiar precursor site on Japanese shores. Things don’t go according to plan for the Black Cross, as they are called, although they do succeed in bringing our heroes to a place that brought a smile to our faces thanks to the lore it helped uncover, alongside a connection to other titles in the franchise.
We wish we could say more, but that would be venturing deep into spoiler territory. Suffice it to say that things wrap up pretty well for Naoe and Yasuke, and they’re on a path to the Assassins at the end of their tale. We would have liked to see more of the First Civilization in this one, but there’s only so much you can fit into a single story chapter. Nevertheless, Black Tides has done well to bridge the past, present, and future of the Assasssin’s Creed franchise, and we’re quite eager to see where it goes from here.
