Season 4.5 of Marvel Rivals is coming soon, but NetEase is teasing something for Season 5 that players have been requesting since the games launch.

The developer posed their tenth Dev Vision video, where Creative Director Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen discusses some things coming to the game in Season 4.5, which launches on October 10, and beyond, including the new character coming with the midseason update, Daredevil, who will join the other new character for the season, Angela.

The video also teases a new game mode, which will be revealed later in October, as well as some concept art for the new skins that will be added for the game’s Halloween event.

However, the biggest thing he revealed won’t be added to the game until Season 5, when Marvel Rivals will finally be getting cross-progression.

Cross Progression Has Been “Top Priority”

According to Guangguang, implementing cross-progression was a “top priority” for NetEase because of how much the community has been asking for it, and they’ve been “frantically cooking” to get it into the game.

While the feature will be launching for everyone in Season 5, there will be a gradual rollout, inviting some players to test it out and provide feedback throughout Season 4.5.

For the game’s cross-progression, players will be able to set a main character across all their accounts. You’ll be able to change your main, but there will be a cooldown keeping you from doing it too often.

Even with cross-progression, rank and leaderboard position will still be platform-specific, and your career battle stats and rank in each version will be tracked separately.

Other than cross-progression, the video also goes over some of the changes to Team-Up Abilities coming with Season 4.5, including Namor’s removal from Gamma Charge, leaving just Hulk and Black Panther, and the full removal of Ragnarok Rebirth.

In Ragnarok Rebirth’s place, two new Team-Up Abilities are being added: Bestial Hunt with Daredevil and Punisher and Deep Wrath with Namor and Hela.

The game will also be adding the ability for players to customize their home screen, setting backgrounds, animations, and music from previous seasons along with the ability to download high-resolution images of those backgrounds.

While it hasn’t been announced when Season 5 will be starting, players should be happy to know that cross-progression is finally coming soon, and they won’t need to start from scratch whenever they want to pick the game up on a new platform.
