The final escape from Tarkov, the one fans have been waiting for eight long years of beta testing, is finally upon us, as Escape from Tarkov is gearing up to drop its full 1.0 version, bringing an official end to one of the most enduring early-access journeys in recent gaming history.
But this release isn’t just about leaving the beta behind. It seems that Battlestate Games studio has a few surprises in store for the FPS title to reward the dedicated members of their community.
Battlestate Games Details The Game’s Final Challenge, Endings, And Upcoming DLC
In a recent Q&A at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 (as spotted by Denfaminicogamer), Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games and game director for Escape From Tarkov, warned that playing the game’s final version will not be a walk in the park. And, in fact, it will be extremely difficult and not for all players.
“You need to prepare yourself because not everyone will be able to escape from Tarkov”, explains Buyanov. “Not because of poor performance. It’s because of missions and quests that were designed like this, so it will be pretty hard for you to complete everything.”
If you are not feeling challenged enough, he also revealed that players will be able to find four different endings in total – and one of them (the best one, according to Buyanov) is going to be extremely hard to achieve. “If you manage to complete it, it should be treated as a lifetime achievement”.
Alongside that, Buyanov also announced that the very first DLC for Escape From Tarkov is already in full production. Entitled “Scav Life”, it seems to expand the game’s universe with new locations. Oh, and console versions are on the horizon as well!
