The longevity of your park in Jurassic World Evolution 3 relies on a few key factors. It’s important to keep your dinosaurs, staff and guests happy, but the best way of doing that is making sure your park isn’t stagnant.
One key way of doing that is upgrading and improving your facilities and buildings.
As you progress through the game, you’ll find that the research tab is one of your best friends. This allows you to do a multitude of things, but one of the most important is researching upgrades to your locations.
If you’ve found yourself staring at the research screen, wondering just what upgrades are crucial, wonder no longer. In this guide, I’ll cover which upgrades you should prioritize, as well as how you can use them to your advantage in your park.
Viewing Gallery 2
The viewing galleries are really important to the happiness of your guests. They allow them to see these incredible beasts up close and personal.
As your park gets bigger and your guest capacity increases, it’s crucial to keep your viewing galleries evolving alongside your growing stable of dinosaurs.
Upgrading to Viewing Gallery 2 grants you some outstanding new additions. The Dome and Viewing Platform are fantastic, and can increase guest happiness tremendously.
Requirements are rather low, and you only need a basic team of scientists to get it going.
Power 2
As your buildings get more and more complex, the need to power them becomes paramount.
The basic backup generator you get with Power 1 is decent, and will be more than enough to get you rolling. But if you’re looking to power some even more impressive structures, you’ll need Power 2.
Power 2 is pretty easy to get, only requiring a small science team. But getting it early will greatly help your park.
You can build power stations which don’t need refueling and also distribute energy over a much wider range. Power 2 is very important to the early game, and can save you a lot of hassle as you move into upgrading your park more.
Staff Center 2
One thing that Jurassic World Evolution 3 does to make sure you don’t overpower yourself too early is place limitations on the number of certain buildings.
To start with, you can only build one staff center. These are important for your science team, as it allows them to rest and recover.
In order to build more, you’ll need Staff Center 2. Requirements for Staff Center 2 are somewhat simple, needing just a few scientists.
With this upgrade, you can add another staff center and recruit more scientists. It also allows you to train your scientists up to level three.
Core Upgrades
Core Upgrades is the most no-brainer early upgrade, as it may not seem important now, but will be a lifesaver in the mid-late game.
This cheap upgrade will cost you just a few Logistics points, which should be easy even if you have a small team of scientists. Once you’ve acquired it, the Core Upgrades will grant you some pretty nifty perks.
To start with, Storm Defense Upgrades will be a big help moving forward. It also adds some efficiency and upgrades, as well as some cost reductions for maintenance.
Core Upgrades is one of the best early game skills you can research, so make sure you look into this one pretty quickly.
Wide Path
Just dropping a building into your park won’t do the job. One of the first things you’ll need to do is connect it to your wider network with a path, but there’s an upgrade to that system that will be a huge help early on.
Wide Path is the most involved in terms of early game upgrades, requiring a guest capacity of 400. This is simple enough, as you’ll just need a few hotels, some amenities and upgraded viewing galleries.
Once you’ve reached 400 guests, unlock the Wide Path immediately. It will greatly improve your foot traffic, which means that guests and staff get to where they need to be quicker.
Your park will run better, and your guests will spend more money. It’s a win-win.
