Jurassic World Evolution 3 is the latest entry in Frontier Developments’ continued work on creating the ultimate dinosaur park simulator. It’s the kind of game you can lose hours to, and in those multiple hours, you’ll find that one part of the game is in need of your undivided attention.

Yes, it’s important that your staff and guests are in good shape, but if the dinosaurs aren’t happy, then no one is happy.

In order to make the most of your fleet of dinosaurs and what they can do for your park, it’s crucial to keep them happy and comfortable. Be they herbivores or carnivores, making sure your dinosaur ecosystem isn’t disgruntled will make your time with the game much more agreeable.

So, if you’re finding yourself wondering why the dinosaurs in your park aren’t terribly pleased, jump into our guide, and I’ll help you with making them feel right at home.

Modify Their Surroundings

First things first, if your dinosaurs aren’t surrounded by things that make them feel at home, you’re not going to have a good time.

To start with, hover over a dinosaur to see how happy they are. If they’re unhappy, a good starting point is to make their surrounding area feel more like home.

Check the second icon in the menu, which is the comfort icon. At the bottom, you can now click edit environment.

This will allow you to modify their environment in real time, as the game will detail what they’re after. Wetlands, arid environments, ground cover; all of these contribute to the overall happiness level of a dinosaur enclosure.

Additionally, feeders can be dropped into an enclosure. These feeders correlate to carnivores and marine dinosaurs, as they each have different dietary requirements.

Making sure each enclosure has its own unique environment is important. These dinosaurs come from a wide variety of different environments, so making them feel like they’re in their natural habitat will keep them content.

Give Them The Ability To Breed

As a wise man once said, life finds a way. And indeed, in Jurassic World Evolution 3, life can and will find a way if you want to make your dinosaurs happy.

In order to give your dinosaurs the ability to breed, you have to check a few boxes first.

To begin with, you’ll need to make sure you’ve researched that dinosaur’s genome enough to hatch both males and females. Doing so is rather simple, as you’ll just need to research enough fossils to get to the required level.

Once you’ve done that, you’ll also need to research nesting areas. Early on in the game, the simple nesting areas will do fine, but bigger dinosaurs will require more complex ones.

At this point, it’s just the simple task of putting some males and females together, then watching over them to make sure nothing goes wrong.

It’s also worth noting that some baby dinosaurs hatch with the potential to be sick, so make sure you’ve got some response teams on stand by at your medical stations.

Give Them Some Friends

Although the ethical conflict about bringing these creatures back to life in contemporary times is a fascinating one, the bottom line is that you’re here now.

You have a park full of dinosaurs, and they’re not very happy. Well, when I’m not happy, the first people I go to are my friends.

If we apply this to the dinosaur world within your park, it operates in the same way.

Social needs are just as important to your dinosaurs as the more practical ones. And a key way to make dinosaurs happy in the game is to give them some friends.

Increasing populations of dinosaurs, or finding species that can live and thrive together, will help in keeping them happy.
