There’s no shortage of ominous and cryptic puzzles to complete in Tormented Souls 2, carrying on the tradition from its award-winning predecessor.
From the moment you start your terrifying journey to rescue Anna, you’ll need to solve those puzzles in order to progress, and also make the most of the weapons you salvage.
One such puzzle is the so-called Stretcher puzzle, which requires you to quite literally use a medieval torture device to solve it and obtain an important item. Here’s how to complete the Stretcher puzzle in Tormented Souls 2.
How To Find Stretcher Puzzle In Tormented Souls 2
The Stretcher puzzle in Tormented Souls 2 is located within the Torture Museum area of the convent. To reach that area, you first need to gain access to the adjacent Museum area.
The door to it is locked with a unique mechanism that must be opened with the Museum Key Joseph gives you, after you give him the Cursed Book found in the Prison area.
Once you get inside the Museum, the Torture Museum area is down the stairs and through the door in the top left corner of the lower level. There, you’ll find the Stretcher device in the center of the main room.
A real corpse is fitted into the device, which has a large crank on one side that’s used to, well, stretch the victim.
While you can interact with the device, and it’s implied that you need to “solve” it somehow, the key to solving it requires you to travel to the Other Side.
How To Complete Stretcher Puzzle In Tormented Souls 2
To complete the Stretcher puzzle in Tormented Souls 2, you actually first need to complete the Teleport Mirror puzzle that’s in a room just down the stairs from the Stretcher. Once you solve that puzzle and activate the mirror, Caroline will use it to cross to the Other Side (or “Hell” as it were).
Once there, proceed into the room ahead, where you’ll find an alternate version of the Stretcher device, though with a scarecrow fixed to it rather than a corpse. Interact with it and then turn the large crank to stretch the scarecrow until it splits in half.
With that done, use the same mirror to return to the normal world and head back to the Stretcher device there. You’ll find the corpse split apart in a similar fashion, though now you can retrieve the item embedded in its torso. Interact with it to obtain the Metal Pipe item.
Make sure to thoroughly explore the Other Side dimension while you’re in the Museum, as you’ll find a handful of consumables there as well as the alternate version of the Angel Statue, which you need to complete its respective puzzle.
