Former Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick claims in a legal filing that the lawsuit against Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision (filed in 2022 by a Swedish pension fund) was not just a normal challenge, but was designed to help rival Embracer Group gain a foothold in the California market at Activision’s expense.

Kotick claims that this action was intended to weaken Activision by making it more difficult for the company to recruit talent and grow. Embracer has denied these accusations, stating that it has no connection to the lawsuit and does not need this type of support to compete with Activision.
