The latest entry in the acclaimed BrokenLore horror series has arrived, bringing its signature blend of psychological terror and social commentary to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW launched on 16th January, tackling the dark side of social media culture through first-person horror gameplay that promises to leave players unsettled long after they’ve stopped playing.

The game follows Anne, who awakens in a mysterious house with no memory of how she got there. Her only familiar connection is YouTuber Akidearest, whose videos previously helped Anne through difficult times. Now the roles are reversed, and Anne must help Akidearest whilst exploring the eerie house and confronting painful memories from her past. However, something sinister stalks the halls, determined to prevent her escape.

Developer Sebastiano Serafini from Serafini Productions describes UNFOLLOW as deeply personal, having been the first concept planned when the studio was established four years ago. The game features appearances from real influencers including Akidearest and Knite, adding authenticity to its exploration of social media’s psychological impact. Serafini aims to create horror that lingers as an “aftertaste” rather than relying solely on jump scares.

The BrokenLore series has built its reputation on depicting “modern societal anxiety and the weakness of the human heart” through surreal environments and symbolic horror. UNFOLLOW continues this tradition whilst focusing specifically on social media’s influence on mental health and human connection.

BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is available now for £15.99, with a Deluxe Edition priced at £19.99 including the original soundtrack, customisable pet, and an additional ending scenario. Players can find the game on PlayStation Store, Steam, and Xbox Store, with a trailer available on the developer’s YouTube channel.
