Almost immediately after the epilogue episode for My Hero Academia aired, a new anime short was already announced.

It’ll be titled I am a hero too and will star Eri, according to the website post announcing it. It’s based on a one-shot manga drawn by Kohei Horikoshi for My Hero Academia: Ultra Age, which shows what Eri gets up to after entering high school at the end of the series. While not much else was revealed about I am a hero too’s plot it will presumably follow the story of the one-shot manga fairly closely. For now, the only piece of art that has been released is the anime short’s logo.

The announcement of I am a hero too is part of the tenth anniversary celebrations for My Hero Academia, as the anime first aired in April 2016. “More,” the 171st episode of the anime, and a special concert featuring the anime’s music are the headlining events of the anniversary, but the reveal of ‘I am a hero too’ gives fans even more to look forward to.

No specific release date has been announced; the studio said the date will be shared in the future. That said, Crunchyroll reports that the anime short will come out sometime this summer.

Polygon loved the most recent episode of My Hero Academia. “With ‘More,’ Bones Studio simply confirms its uncanny ability to adapt and elevate Horikoshi’s original work, just as the anime showcases for its entire run,” Francesco Cacciatore wrote. “Beautifully delicate visuals weave the brief but emotionally intense story of the episode throughout its 22-minute runtime.”
