As you progress through Pragmata, you will discover more than just some adorable quotes from Diana talking about your journey. You will also discover various mods, hacking nodes, and weapons that will make fighting off the enemy automatons much easier.
10 Best Mods in Pragmata (and How to Find Them)
You are stronger with mods.
Each of the weapons in the game has a use. For instance, one of them will add additional hacking nodes to your hack, while another will slow enemies down, giving you more time to react.
With there being 16 different weapons in Pragmata, it can be difficult to decide which weapons you want to bring with you each time you leave the shelter. This is how important they are to bring with you.
16 Hacking Mines
More Hacking
Dead last on the list is the Hacking Mines. To be fair, there aren’t any “bad” weapons in Pragmata, as the Hacking Mines do have a use, but it is very limited to those who want to use a hacking build.
Using this weapon, you can shoot out mines that you can then hack using Diana’s hacking ability. This extends her hacking capabilities, but it also requires you to just perform your normal functions, but on a different target.
Sure, the AOE is emits is nice, but it doesn’t come close to dishing out the type of damage other weapons do, and the mandatory hacking makes it a bit inconvenient.
15 Lim Cannon
Goodbye Lunafilament
As much as we love high damage numbers, we don’t love needing to spend our precious Lunafilament to get them, and that is what is required of the Lim Cannon. This weapon functions by shooting out Lunafilament from your supply, but it also means it has a pretty big ammo stack.
When charged, this weapon uses 300 Lunafilament. Which isn’t a ton if you have beaten the game and have been saving up for the rest of the upgrades, but it never gives back what you put into it, making the weapon a drain on your resources.
We also haven’t been able to take out multiple enemies at once with it, making it a bit lackluster, especially since you need to wait until the credits roll and complete the additional missions to get it.
14 Charge Piercer
Charge and Shoot
The Charge Piercer has the great benefit of being able to shoot through multiple foes, and it shines when you can get enemies to line up. Unfortunately, things get chaotic, and you can’t always line up that perfect shot.
This weapon requires you to charge it up. This enhances its damage, allowing it to fire through enemies. The main issue is that it is difficult to get charged, as enemies will usually be able to attack you before you can fully charge up the weapon.
When it works, it works, but the instances of it working are much fewer than we would like them to be, placing this weapon farther back on the list.
13 Homing Missiles
Missile Spread
The Homing Missiles are a fairly decent weapon, despite needing to be charged to get the full benefit. The Homing Missiles lock onto targets, and the longer you hold down the charge, the more missiles are produced, and the more targets you can hit.
The biggest issue with this weapon, and with most charge weapons, is the charge rate. You basically need to upgrade this weapon as fast as possible to get the most out of it, as other weapons will quickly overtake it in damage if you leave it sitting.
Overall, the weapon is solid, with a good damage output, and a spread of missiles that can help with a group, but the charge rate knocks this weapon down on the list.
12 Decoy Generator
Take a Break
The Decoy Generator is the first of the defense units you will get your hands on, and it is a solid unit that will help you a lot when there are crowds of enemies. Shooting this weapon creates a decoy that attracts any enemy within its AOE, making them attack the decoy instead of you.
It is a good way to take a break during a battle, but it can be a bit finnicky. Sometimes, enemies won’t be affected by the weapon. We aren’t sure if it is because of a glitch, or maybe it only affects a maximum number of enemies, but either way, we have been attacked when we thought we were safe.
In addition to this, the other defense units help out a lot more during battle. There is nothing wrong with this one, but having a deployable cover or drones that watch your back is a bit more useful.
11 Sticky Bombs
Shrink the Hacking Matrix
Sticky Bombs are introduced when you reach the Terra Dome, and they are very useful in specific situations. These situations become more apparent as the game goes on.
This weapon is designed to help Diana’s hacking, while also dealing damage after a period of time. Each time you stick an enemy with a bomb, the hacking matrix shrinks, and it can shrink down to a three-by-three grid, making hacking a breeze.
The main reason we don’t place this weapon higher on the list is because we don’t find hacking to be enough of a hindrance to require the weapon very often. It is better to have other weapons unless an enemy has a massive hacking matrix that needs to be condensed.
10 Code Generator
Hacking Specialists
The Code Generator is a tactical unit that’s sole job is to help Diana deal more damage with hacking. This bulky machine shoots a wide digital net that adds light blue hacking nodes to the hacking screen of enemies that it hits.
This allows you to deal additional damage to the bots if you pass through multiple of these nodes, making it very useful for those who have a build that specializes in hacking damage.
While this is more of a specialized weapon, it is very useful for standard builds as well, allowing you to bypass enemy shields. Of course, the specialization is what places it so far back on the list.
9 Impact Barrier
Protection
It is good to have protection for yourself and Diana as you take on bigger threats across the moon. That is where the Impact Barrier comes in. This is a defense unit that places a dome shield around you, keeping you safe from enemy gunfire.
Enemies cannot shoot through this shield, and many of them cannot pass through it, giving you a safe space to hack from for a short duration. This weapon can be a lifesaver when used correctly, and will greatly benefit you during large firefights with multiple enemies.
The short duration of its shield and lack of mobility keep it from being placed higher. It would be nice if the shield could move around with us.
8 Stasis Net
Slow Them Down
At first, enemies in Pragmata will move rather slowly, but as you progress through the game, and you start facing more difficult foes, they start moving much more quickly. The Statis Net is a tactical unit that is designed to slow enemies down, giving you more time to react.
When you shoot this weapon, it leaves a stasis AOE that slows down any enemy caught in it. For most enemies, it slows them to such a crawl that you can easily walk up to them and not get hit in the process.
If you need help getting out of a sticky situation, you can use the Stasis Net to slow down your foes, get away, and then hack them without needing to worry about them chasing after you. Of course, this weapon does deal damage, as that would be too much.
10 Moments in Pragmata That Will Touch Your Heart
Pragmata is just so cute.
7 Pulse Carbine
Heat Them Up
The Pulse Carbine is the first real damage-dealing weapon on this list, and it is the upgraded version of the Grip Gun. Instead of firing like a pistol, this is an assault rifle that can rapidly shoot, heating up enemies quickly in the process.
When used with the correct build, the Pulse Carbine can rapidly build up an enemy’s heat gauge, causing them to overheat, and giving you time to jump in to punish them.
Of course, this weapon is more specialized, requiring you to use a heat build to get the full benefit out of it, so those who are focused more on hacking or using other hacking nodes won’t benefit as much, placing it lower on the list.
