A dramatic 631% increase in Switch 2 Game-Key card sales marks a significant trend amid new game announcements and updates.
While there’s a fair amount of activity happening on the Nintendo front, the standout story today involves a surge in purchasing behavior, specifically regarding Nintendo Switch 2 game-key cards. According to Nintendo Life, spending on these cards has increased by 631% in the U.S. throughout 2026. This overwhelming increase is particularly notable as it has managed to push overall physical media spending up by 5%, despite a slight drop in other types of physical media. The reasons behind this trend are not detailed, but the growing preference for digital and flexible game ownership is likely a factor.
