It seems like yesterday that we were completely obsessed with getting every immersive digital card from Gen 1, but Pokémon TCG Pocket is already preparing to celebrate its first anniversary in late October.
To celebrate with the community and its fans, the development team behind the mobile title has recently announced a bunch of features and tweaks that are coming up – which will finally make it easier for us to complete our collections.
Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Next Update Will Make Completing Your Collection Much Easier
In total, three major updates are coming soon to Pokémon TCG Pocket, and they will directly affect some of the main mechanics of the game, improving mainly card collecting and accessibility. You can check the announcement trailer below:
The first one is the implementation of a brand-new “Share” mechanic, which basically allows you to give a card to a friend as a gift, with no cost at all.
The feature will appear directly on the “Social Hub” screen, and players can pick one card each day to give away – and only 1-4 diamond rarity cards will be shareable.
For the second major update, the range of tradable cards has finally been expanded, including two-star rarity cards (Special Illustration Rares), Shiny 1-2 star cards, and even cards from the most recent expansion.
However, three-star cards (the Immersive ones), crown-marked cards (Golden ones), and Promo cards are still ruled out. Well, it’s a pretty good update, but it could’ve been better, right?
Last but not least, there are two small tweaks to the wonder pick feature: a direct improvement on the odds of finding cards that you haven’t obtained yet from the latest expansion, and the total number of cards you own will be displayed on each card in wonder pick.
Sadly, a release date for these updates wasn’t revealed. “We’re working hard to bring these updates to you in the best possible way, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime”, says the statement from the Pokémon TCG Pocket dev team.
They did give us a tease of another upcoming update, though. Its next expansion, which will finally feature Mega Evolution Pokémon, is confirmed to launch in October. More details on that will arrive later, but that’s already amazing news.
