One of the Clans in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has a unique priest outfit, one which gives them special dialogue and interactions with characters in Seattle.
Clan Lasombra is one of the six playable options in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Formerly DLC, this Clan is now totally free, with players able to access their Oblivion powers (aka, shadow magic) without needing to pay extra.
It turns out that Clan Lasombra has a special gimmick, likely a holdover from when they were a paid exclusive, as they have a priest outfit they can wear, which will prompt special conversation choices throughout the game, giving you an alternate way to experience the story. This was revealed in a trailer on the World of Darkness YouTube channel.
Why Does Clan Lasombra Have A Priest Gimmick?
In the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop RPG, Clan Lasombra is closely associated with various religious orders, most notably the Catholic Church. They were once part of a faction called the Sabbat, whose members used corrupted Catholic ideology and rituals.
It’s unclear how much of an impact on the story the priest route will have. It’s possible that most characters will just say “Priest? LOL” and that’s it. As this is a Vampire: The Masquerade video game, chances are, the player will encounter a figure with the True Faith ability, so that could lead to some fun dialogue.
But what else does Clan Lasombra have to offer? They possess the Oblivion discipline, which enables them to harness the power of shadows. This can be used to teleport, to instill fear in the hearts of mortals, or even enter the world of darkness itself, letting you take down enemies one by one.
Hopefully, the other Clans will also have their own unique gimmicks in the game world. The Toreador (the other former DLC Clan) might also have some special outfit that prompts a response, due to their status as the most stylish vampires in the land.
