After rumours that Sony was reeling in its presence on PC, it’s now official. Single-player PlayStation games are returning to console exclusivity.
SCOOP: PlayStation studio business CEO Hermen Hulst told staff in a town hall Monday morning that the company’s narrative single-player games will now be PlayStation exclusive, confirming Bloomberg’s reporting from earlier this year.Original story from March: www.bloomberg.com/news/article…

The news was confirmed by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier this morning on Bluesky. Schreier stated on social media that PlayStation’s Hermen Hulst told employees today via a town hall meeting that the company would no longer push PlayStation first-party single-player games to PC.
Games like Ghost of Yōtei and Saros will stick to consoles, while online games like Marathon and Marvel Tokon will launch multi-platform — however, it remains unclear how long after consoles PC ports will arrive.
Bloomberg also mentioned that Death Stranding 2 and Kena: Scars of Kosmora, two titles from third-party studios, will launch on PC.
It’s been said that Sony’s decision to pull back on launching PlayStation games on PC stems from several concerns, including potential brand damage and cannibalization of PS5 sales.
As PlayStation games began to appear on PC, it was also a bit hard to predict when these titles would launch. Some titles came years after their console counterparts, others closer to the original console launch date, and some arrived with optimization and port issues. Sony even implemented a PlayStation Network requirement for those on PC, asking them to make an account to play their games.
Now, it is abundantly clear that PlayStation will once again focus on single-player exclusives on console. This comes as Asha Sharma, the new CEO of Xbox, has hit the ground running and made sweeping changes to the brand, which has often been mocked by fans.
