Known as Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), this innovation promises to enhance image quality on the standard PS5 system by employing AI technology previously reserved for the PS5 Pro. The development of QSSR was part of Sony’s collaboration with AMD under Project Amethyst, aiming to deliver more detailed and stable visuals through a streamlined neural network architecture and enhanced hardware efficiencies. This update, detailed by PlayStation Blog, marks an important step in improving current-gen console display capabilities, aligning closer with the high standards set by enthusiasts.
