Developed primarily by indie dev known as EllipsisWorks, FERRA is an upcoming cyberpunk FPS slasher set in a futuristic version of Japan in the year 2055.

The game follows Yako, a former elite PMC operative who was betrayed and experimented on by the corporation she once worked for. After surviving the mysterious “FERRA” project, she becomes something far more dangerous than human and sets out on a violent revenge mission.

What immediately makes FERRA stand out is its dual-form combat system. You can switch between Yako’s human combat style and her beast form during fights. In human mode, combat focuses on weapons like katanas, uzis, shotguns, and other heavy firearms.

But once the beast form activates, the game completely shifts into something much faster and more aggressive. You start wall-running, dashing across environments, slashing enemies apart with claws, and using a “Bite System” that restores health by literally tearing into opponents.

The gameplay trailer showcases high-speed combat, combo chains, stylish executions, and a rhythm-heavy flow that almost feels like a mix of DOOM Eternal, Ghostrunner, and anime-inspired hack-and-slash games.

But visually, FERRA has its own identity entirely. Instead of going for photorealism, the game mixes 3D environments with hand-drawn 2D animated weapons, hands, effects, and combat animations. The result gives everything a very unique anime-inspired look that instantly separates it from most indie shooters on Steam right now.

The Steam page also recently went live, meaning you can wishlist the game right now.
