It’s been there in Kaifeng all along, yet not accessible until now! As part of a very meaty, nearly 10-minute-long “Goose News” broadcast from developer Everstone Studio to celebrate the half-anniversary of its open-world Wuxia ARPG, Where Winds Meet.
Launching late this month, the “Imperial Palace” major update ends the “Hexi” major update, and opens the previously sealed and heavily guarded gate on an Imperial Palace that stretches 1 million square metres — almost more than the grand city of Kaifeng itself!
The court is made up of an impressive 3,000 3,000 NPCs and a complex web of intersecting factions.
Take a long peek behind the curtain of royal life, uncover deep-seated conspiracies, foil assassination attempts, and forge unique connections with members of the royal family, setting the stage for massive narrative foreshadowing to be explored in the future.
While palace intrigue is the major change, several additional updates are coming soon!
In June, players can finally lay down some roots with the Homesteads System. Literal roots! Return to Qinghe, the birthplace of your dreams, and build your ultimate sanctuary while farming and living the life of a hidden martial arts master.
Also coming in June are two new game modes to keep you busy!
Gather up a group for the “Martial Path Domain,” an intense 5-player cooperative PVE experience.
Would you rather take a plunge and explore? Well then, brave a thrilling new exploration mode that plunges players into the pitch-black depths of ancient tombs, where you must eliminate rivals to secure the ultimate loot.
Later this summer, there will be a special update for those weapon masters out there, brining Gauntlets with their own unique martial arts p visceral, fist-to-flesh combat, and visceral fist-based combat.
Future updates that don’t have a planned release yet will include a new Companion System, introducing adorable, furry sidekicks to the Jianghu. As your bond deepens, their personalities and dialogue will evolve dynamically through your shared adventures.
Lastly, a Limited-Edition Panda Cosmetic will launch on May 19th for 60 Echo Beads (approximately $1.36 CAD). Inspired by nature’s most beloved icons, this cosmetic aims to raise global awareness for wildlife protection. It will be available in the shop for 30 days until June 17th.
