As someone who has played far too much Vampire Survivors, Megabonk is scratching every possible itch.
I know that it feels like a cop-out to call it a 3D version of 2022’s breakout indie hit, but I mean, that’s essentially what it is. Both are roguelike shoot ’em ups focused on building up your character during a run with random abilities and perks. Both have retro-inspired visuals. Both are an absolute blast to play. The only real difference is that Vampire Survivors is 2D while Megabonk takes place in a 3D environment.
Oh, and there are so many puns, too.
Out of the gate, Megabonk does have another thing going for it: an impressive roster of 20 characters, 18 of which are unlockable.

How To Unlock Every Character In Megabonk
To unlock characters in Megabonk, you’ll need to accomplish two goals, most of which involve performing a challenge in-game and buying something from the unlock store using silver coins.
You’ll obtain silver coins following your runs, the amount of which is determined by how well you do and any modifiers you get in-game.

Most of these quests can be completed by simply playing through the game, some of which will be easier to achieve than others.
Other quests, such as finding specific characters, will be a little more difficult. Take Bush, for example, who is in the image above the table. Not only do you have to find Bush, but you also have to deal with his intimidating health pool and formidable attacks.
