After what has felt like a year of celebrating Ace Combat to the very skies, we have finally seen two minutes of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve!
The campaign puts you in the role of a pilot in Strangereal, a world at war, in a fictional universe where the weight of decisions, the pressure of command, and the bonds forged in battle will feel all too real. With their nation, the Federation of Central Usea (FCU), occupied, and its navy shattered, players enter the cockpit as the “Wings of Theve” – a legendary ace, a name tied to Theve, the capital of the FCU, and a symbol of hope for every citizen in their homeland.
Joined by three new fighter pilots, they are on a flight against the odds against the Republic of Sotoa to reclaim their lost homeland, eliminate the threat to their people, and carry the hope of every FCU citizen.
Players can expect a variety of combat scenarios as they take to the skies. Aerial combat has been redefined, introducing new capabilities such as ground attack and anti-ship missions.
Ace Combat 8 features over 30 aircraft, with a lineup spanning real-world fighters from around the world. These are categorized into four categories: attack aircraft, multi-role aircraft, fighters, and electronic warfare aircraft.
Pilots can get ready to take off on October 2, 2026, on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC. And until then, Bandai Namco is promising to hold you over with a number of deals on this series’ extensive back catalogue.
