Firesprite finally revealed their new game, Until Dawn 2, at today’s PlayStation State of Play.
Showcasing a bunch of fake ghost hunters on a tropical island, things quickly go awry in plenty of blood and guts, with a killer on the loose. It looks to continue the choice-and-consequence-based gameplay the series is known for, where everyone can lie, but, at the same time, everyone can die.
“Having just signed a deal with a big TV network, the crew gets shipped off to an abandoned tropical island for their first fully funded episode. At first, it’s all sun, sand, secrets… plus some very not-safe-for-the-workplace drama as their complicated relationships bubble to the surface,” says Firesprite.
You’ll manage relationships, and they matter with some branches based on where things stand between characters.
“Here at Firesprite, we took the reins on Until Dawn 2 as our first release since Horizon: Call of the Mountain, where we collaborated with our friends at Guerrilla Games. Like many of you, a bunch of us on the team are massive fans of the original Until Dawn, so getting to build the sequel has been a dream come true. Part of our mission from day one has been honouring that core DNA: character drama, tough choices, and those unforgettable horror moments that made the first game so special,” Firesprite reveals.
No release date was given, but we do know that Until Dawn 2 will launch in 2027.
