Another Xbox studio may have joined the long list of companies facing closure. According to Gamesbeat, Undead Labs may be shutting down too.
The studio, which is currently working on State of Decay 3, could, however, be saved by a buyer. If the sale falls through, 110 people will lose their jobs. Of course, the third installment of the post-apocalyptic action-adventure series is at risk of being canceled. It was announced back in 2020 and is scheduled for release next year.
It’s worth noting that in addition to Undead Labs, Double Fine (100 jobs), Compulsion Games (90 jobs), and Ninja Theory (135 jobs) could also be shut down. Microsoft is reportedly waiting until the end of its fiscal quarter, which is June 30, 2026, to take action. All in all, 435 jobs could be lost.
