This week, Nintendo announced that it will stop selling the Switch in Europe in mid-February 2027 because of the new European legislation that will require all electronic devices sold to feature a replaceable battery.
In a new statement, the Japanese company clarified that the original Switch will still be sold outside the European Union after that date.
“We plan to continue selling Nintendo Switch in regions outside of Nintendo of Europe.”
Thus, the European market will be the only one that will no longer receive new Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED models starting next year.
