PlayStation made the first move, and Xbox is expected to follow suit. In January 2028, Sony will stop producing physical discs for games on its consoles. And it seems we shouldn’t expect anything different from the competition.
Jez Corden explains in an article published on Windows Central that Project Helix, the next Xbox, will also not feature with a disc drive. Corden notes that he obtained this information from multiple sources.
Thus, the PS6 and Xbox Helix will mark the beginning of the all-digital era.
